Some great news coming from the club yesterday! The club has just released its financial results for the 2023/24 season, and there's plenty to be optimistic about.
Here's everything you need to know👇
Newcastle United has reported a huge 28% increase in overall revenue, reaching £320.3 million for the 2023/24 season.
This is more than double the revenue from the final full season under Mike Ashley in 2020/21.
The total revenue figures for the last four seasons demonstrate some serious and promising progress 👇
- £140.2m (2020/21 season)
- £179.7m (2021/22 season)
- £250.3m (2022/23 season)
- £320.3m (2023/24 season)
Our return to the Champions League had a significant positive impact on our finances, contributing nearly £30 million in prize money alone.
We've also seen a 90% increase in commercial revenue - partly down to our new shirt sponsorship deal with Sela & manufacturing deal with Adidas.
Thanks to our Champions League participation and the introduction of two new executive lounges at St. James' Park, matchday revenue has increased by 32% to £50.1 million.
While we still reported a loss of £11.1 million, this is a huge improvement from the £71.8 million loss in the previous season.
Take it as a sign that we’re investing in the squad and the club infrastruture, operate at a short-term loss to stay ahead.
The good news? Our finances show we’re striking the right balance between ambition and sustainability, setting us up for long-term success.
The most imprtant thing as far as fans our concerned is that these results seem to prove the club's commitment to long-term growth.
And as we continue to strengthen our financial position, it's clear that we're building a solid foundation for the future.
