Lads and lasses, we actually did it 🥹
After 70 years, Wembley is black and white & Newcastle United are finally bringing home a domestic trophy.
While you’ve probably watched the highlights on repeat (we all have), here are five moments from the weekend you might have missed - or if not, you’ll want to see again 👇
1. Sela’s Spectacular Light Show ✨
Before a ball was even kicked, Newcastle was already celebrating.
On Saturday night, our shirt sponsor Sela delivered another spectacular projection display on the iconic Millbank Tower.
The tower was lit up in black-and-white, with visuals of the players, the city and highlights from our cup run so far - if you missed it, you can watch it here.
But Sela didn’t stop there. They provided the 30,000 limited-edition scarves to Newcastle fans inside Wembley, ensuring a wall of black and white greeted the players as they walked out onto the pitch.
2. The Mad Dog and Mags 🍺
As tens of thousands of Newcastle fans descended on London, one pub in particular made sure they felt right at home.
The Dolphin, a well-known hub for Geordies in London, went all-in for the occasion, temporarily rebranding itself as The Mad Dog and Mags.
And if that wasn’t enough, Shola Ameobi was spotted behind the bar serving pints in custom Jason Tindall glasses.
If you haven’t seen it already - it is something of a sight to behold! 😆
3. Murphy’s Celebration 🖤🤍
While the cameras were firmly focused on Isak’s ****iconic celebration, you might have missed the reaction from Jacob Murphy’s.
As the ball hit the back of the net, Jacob Murphy went absolutely wild, with a celebration that showed exactly what it meant to every single one of us.
Aa boyhood Newcastle fan, this wasn’t just another assist for him, he set up the goal that all but sealed the trophy - and he knew it.
I don’t know managed to captured this video, but it is simply spectacular.
